Post here if you'd like to talk about starting up a roleplay story for the guild. If you have other suggestions besides what is listed on the poll, let us hear them!

I think the first two ideas Shalathe proposed in the poll are great but I am not sure which I like more...

To be honest, I am always hesitant with military/mercenary guilds because there are so many already around (but not necessarily successful) and I view Evaelrie as a healer / support so I am not sure where she would fit in rank-wise. I also have little to no experience with anything armed forces, so it may take me a minute to get comfortable with.

I also like the idea of exploring, finding artifacts... and making gold... for the good of the group of course! I consider Evaelrie an artist as I am IRL so she would love to create and sell items based on inspiration from discovering and exploring new places. This also may be easier for me to be inspired by since I love learning about different places and cultures IRL.

In general, I like the idea of the guild having a common story we share!

I do not consider myself a writer... I am more visual (as many of you know) so I think I have a harder time imagining how these stories could play out.

Shalathe, I look forward to what you come up with!

If we DID decide to go the merc route, there wouldn't be IC ranks. As the guild name implies, we'd all be seasoned veterans who knew their way around the battlefield, or those who knew how to tend/support/aid the warmongerers.

We'd be a loose band of adventurers who grouped up together because we somehow knew each other in the past, or decided to heed the random poster on the bulletin board in the local inn because it spoke of glory...or gold for aiding the Alliance forces.

Any events we held would be lead by whoever decided to host the event. We'd all be battle hardened, so it wouldn't be unheard of for more than one person to have experience leading a unit.

Well first I’d like to say hi everyone since I’m the new guy and most don’t know me yet at the time of posting this. I’m a mix of an old school raider and an RP’er though my RP career started well before WoW was a thing.
For guild ideas I understand there are a few things that are being tossed about. Tavern RP or Mercenary style guild RP. For all intents and purposes I’m more of a fan of the latter of those two but that is simply because of what Tavern RP is. While yes it is neat and engaging for various people and guilds to have a structure they can all go to and RP in it also really does ‘lock’ you into that one spot.
That said you also don’t really have to be a ‘mercenary’ guild if you don’t want to be. You can follow the line of what a Mercenary guild would be but simply be an Adventurers guild. This allows you to send members out on quests, military engagements and so forth without ever really forcing upon them a ‘rank’ structure. This also tends to be a bit more of a relaxed atmosphere when compared to a Mercenary guild.
With that said a Merc guild does also have its benefits. It allows more rank and file, better structure, better lead up to events and more control over how those events would take place with members as each event has clear leaders. This also gives you the benefit as truly allying yourselves to the Alliance as a whole. While this latter point is not as important it does help give the guild a major identity boost and the fact that we boast rated BGs it helps lend credence to all this.
So my final vote would probably be a bit of a mercenary setup.

To piggyback off my previous statement. A merc guild also allows people like me who have characters that technically belong to a different sub-faction (Argent and Silver Hand with Legion) to be a part of the merc guild as attache's and the like.

Not sure if this is still being looked at or not.. but to toss up my thoughts: I'd love for there to be some common story in the guild. Even if it's just something small that new and old members could play off of from time to time or we could hold some events in the days there isn't guild events planned or during down time. ^-^

I have no real input on new ideas or what was already suggested to be honest.. I don't really mind either one and I tend to make my characters able to grow and adapt depending on what comes up or what comes across their path.
